Press Release

JAMA Announces Concept, Logo, and Headline Events for JAPAN MOBILITY SHOW 2023

The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc. (current Chairman: Akio Toyoda) has unveiled the logo and concept for the JAPAN MOBILITY SHOW 2023 (formerly, the Tokyo Motor Show) to be held at Tokyo Big Sight, in the Ariake district of Koto-ku, Tokyo, from October 26 (Thursday) through November 5 (Sunday), 2023.

The new JAPAN MOBILITY SHOW 2023 will welcome the pan-industrial participation of domestic as well as overseas companies in three new headline events—the Tokyo Future Tour, the Startup Future Factory, and the Japan Future Session—that will feature interactive engagement between the show and its visitors.

The Show’s Concept
A Place to Envision the Future, Together

“Future,” “Green,” and “Dream” are the three keywords that underpin the show’s concept. Instead of the exhibitors sharing their own visions of the future, JAPAN MOBILITY SHOW aims to serve as a unique venue for collaboration—a show where exhibitors and visitors can discuss and envision, together, what the future will look like.

The Show’s Logo

The logo symbolizes integrated efforts of a borderless scope to encourage change in Japan and to share that drive for transformation with the world. Circles represent individual gears coming together to move forward and advance.

The Three Headline Events

1-Tokyo Future Tour—Immerse yourself in a massive metropolis of the future

In the Tokyo Future Tour, visitors can step into what the Tokyo of the future could look like with the practical use of new mobility. The tour will start with an immersive vision for the future of Tokyo using an array of lights, sound, and spectacular visual displays. Visitors will then be welcomed to four interactive areas of the tour showcasing four different themes: LIFE & Mobility, EMERGENCY & Mobility, PLAY & Mobility, and FOOD & Mobility.

2-Startup Future Factory—Take part in one of Japan’s largest Startup pitch events

The Startup Future Factory will enable potential customers, top-tier companies and leading startups in the mobility industry to come together to create the future of mobility. A wide range of events will be held for startups including pitch sessions, the distribution of awards, and business roundtables. The call for entries is to be launched in late June. Please stay tuned and consult the official JAPAN MOBILITY SHOW 2023 website for details on how to enter.

3-Japan Future Session—A series of presentations on the future of Japan

In addition to the events described above, the show will offer a panoply of programs such as Out of KidZania in JMS, the crowd-drawing Takara Tomy booth, an e-motorsports competition, test rides featuring next-generation mobility, ZEVs, motorcycles, a mini (“kei”) truck market, and a Tokyo Auto Salon booth.

From carbon neutrality to motorsports to other messages concerning the future of mobility, the Japan Future Session will be a multi-day series of presentations covering subjects that have worldwide applicability, to expand the global reach of the show. Their range—from more logical, “left-brain” topics to more creative, “right-brain” topics—will make it possible for visitors from all backgrounds to enjoy the discussions.
